PresidentXIMENA LOPEZ RIVERA (she/her/ella)
Ximena is a fourth year at San Diego State university pursuing her bachelor's degree in English and Theatre Arts. She is a graduate from Olympian High School and currently lives in Chula Vista, CA. She also works as a Compact Mentor for the Compact Scholars Program as well as an SDSU Ambassador, and she wishes to continue working with students in order to inspire them into becoming the best versions of themselves the way that Compact Scholars have inspired her. Through her involvements she has seen the impact that a strong support system has on an individual and wishes to encourage students to seek different opportunities to enhance their lives and the lives of those around them.

Vice PresidentANGELINE PAGUIA (she/her)
Angeline is a 4th year at SDSU pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After joining CSSA last year, she has an even greater passion for building community and serving underrepresented students. She hopes that CSSA offers a fun, safe space for others to meet new people and get involved! She is excited for her last year in college and can't wait for what's to come!

TreasurerJENNIFER PAPAQUI (she/her)
Jennifer Papaqui is a 4th year Psychology major with a minor in Counseling and School Psychology. She has been a member of CSSA since her first year at SDSU and it has been one of the highlights of her college career. Having a community that she can rely on for advice and overall friendship makes days at SDSU so much better!

Administrative OfficerEUGENE "EJ" RUELOS (he/him)
EJ is a 5th year Interdisciplinary Studies Major emphasizing in kinesiology, communication, and psychology and is minoring in leadership. Apart from being on CSSA's e-board, he has been a Compact Scholars mentee and has been a mentor for the past 4 years. Outside of Compact spaces, his passion lies with giving back to the community in any and every way he can. He loves building connections with other people so don't be afraid to say hi!

External Affairs CoordinatorCAROLINA MACHADO (she/her)
Carolina is a 4th year IS3D Major with disciplines in Leadership, Communication, and Counseling & School Psychology. She has found CSSA to be a place where she can relax and distress from her academics. She has been able to meet a variety of new people that she can now call her friends.

Public RelationsITZAYANNA RODRIGUEZ (she/her)
Itzayanna is a 3rd year Interdisciplinary Studies major. Her three disciplines are Psychology, Criminal Justice and Child & Family Development. She’s also a Social Work and Counseling & Social Change minor. At the EOPOS, she’s a Compact Mentor and Lead Outreach Assistant. For CSSA, she is the PR chair! Crafting instagram stories and engaging posts so students have some content. Some of her hobbies include going to raves, building legos, and working out!

Faculty AdvisorANGEL ROCHA (he/him/el)
Angel Rocha is a 2 time SDSU first generation graduate. He has a bachelors in Communications with a minor in Spanish and a Masters from the Postsecondary Educational Leadership in Student Affairs program. Angel was born in Bakersfield, California, started school in Tijuana, Mexico, and grew up in South Bay, San Diego. He comes from a undocumented/mixed status household with a low socioeconomic upbringing, and is thankful to his family for his accomplishments. He graduated from Chula Vista High School and is proud of his South Bay community. Angel has over 10 years of higher education experience advocating for underrepresented students and guiding students on how to maneuver university policies. He was also part of the very first cohort of Compact Scholars. Angel is an enthusiast of video games, coffee, and traveling. He does his best to always have his door open for students in need of support, a check in, or a quick chat. He is currently the Associate Director for the Undocumented Resource Center.
